Embedded Systems Developers

DataLabs is one of the few companies in Greece that designs and produces embedded systems of real time (real time systems). The systems are available in the market through co-operations with other companies as autonomous systems or as part of bigger control systems.

DataLabs' main fields of activity are:

• Research, design and development of software for interactive units for signal distribution of Video On Demand, with emphasis on tourist industry.
• Advisory services on embedded system design pay - web TV, interactive TV, Digital Video on Demand Solutions.
• Sale of its products to the local and international markets, exclusively through resellers.
• Installation of its systems within the greek market through franchising in collaboration with hotel enterprises.
• Undertaking of research and development projects concerning high technology electronics, in collaboration with Universities and Research Laboratories, aiming at developing integrated and competitive high technology products.

Some of the systems that have been designed and developed by DataLabs are:

• HACIS - interactive Pay TV - Web TV system
  An interactive channel allocation type Pay TV for the tourist industry.
  It dominates the particular market in Greece.

• Node'41+1 - intelligent multi sharing device
  Clever computer Peripheral of Personal Computers (PC, Mini or mainframe), for connecting up to 5 computers or peripherals for Data exchange. It was promoted in Greek market by OEM resellers, in Germany by REIN Elektronik GmbH and in Switzerland by SICOS AG International.

• Fire Sys - μP fire alarm indicator
  Naval Fire Alarm & Monitor system, which was developed for the Norwegian company AUTRONICA AS, as part of their own Fire alarm system for commercial ships.

• Tele_Count - μP controlled telephone counting machine unit
  A time sharing and debit system for SAMSUNG PBXs.

• MOIRE -data collection system
  Device for collection and representation of Data, by laboratory engines of the NTUA Laboratory of Testing and resistance of Materials.
  It was developed especially for this department which is using it exclusively for educational reasons.

DataLabs participates in several research projects, such as:

• ό ESPRIT / FU Action /Project FUA -1008, "Development of an ASIC for wireless RF digital communication. Demo product: A wireless mouse". The project was completed successfully with the participation of INTRACOM S.A, Nordic VLSI AS, AMS Microsystems Inc. and Patras University.
• ό GSRT/Industrial Development Research Programme B, "Development of a Radio Modem with spread spectrum technology", developed with the participation of the NTUA Department of Electro Science.
• ό GSRT/ Industrial Development Research Programme B, "Development of HACIS system for the tourist industry". This project was the first developed PAY TV product of DataLabs.
